All the weapons in Apex Legends utilize various types of ammo.
Energy Ammo[]
Weapons that use Energy Ammo tend to have a discrete fire rate; their bullets are not affected by drag and tend to travel faster and drop less compared to weapons using other types of ammo.
In Battle Royale, Energy Ammo spawns in stacks of 20 (or 40, if spawned with a weapon in a Supply Bin) and a stack of 60 fills one inventory slot. In Arenas, a stack of 240 rounds fills one inventory slot.
There are five weapons that utilize Energy Ammo:
- Devotion LMG - LMG
- HAVOC Rifle - AR
- L-STAR EMG - LMG
- Triple Take - Marksman weapon
- Volt SMG - SMG
Heavy Rounds[]

In Battle Royale, Heavy Rounds spawn in stacks of 20 (or 40, if spawned with a weapon in a Supply Bin) and a stack of 60 fills one inventory slot. In Arenas, a stack of 240 rounds fills one inventory slot.

There are three weapons that utilize Shotgun Shells, all of which are shotguns:
Sniper Ammo[]
Sniper Ammo is used by snipers. Weapons using Sniper Ammo can cause "collateral" shots, piercing through multiple enemies if they are close enough to each other. This also applies to deploying Amped Cover. The Charge Rifle is a strange case because it does not pierce through players, but it can pierce through a deploying
Amped Cover.
In Battle Royale, Sniper Ammo spawns in stacks of 12 (or 24, if spawned with a weapon in a Supply Bin) and a stack of 24 fills one inventory slot. In Arenas, a stack of 64 rounds fills one inventory slot.

- Kraber .50-Cal Sniper, which utilizes

Trivia[]
- Prior to
Season 6, Mythic Ammo used to have a golden color like the one Supply Drop Weapons once had. Both the weapons and their ammo's rarity was upgraded from Legendary to Mythic to differentiate them from fully kitted weapons.
- Before the introduction of
Sniper Ammo in
Season 4, the Kraber .50-Cal Sniper and Longbow DMR used
Heavy Rounds, while the Charge Rifle used
Energy Ammo.
- Non-energy weapons fire orange projectiles, regardless of if they are using
Light Rounds,
Heavy Rounds,
Shotgun Shells, or
Sniper Ammo. Energy weapons fire blue projectiles or, in the case of the L-STAR EMG, red projectiles.
- The Peacekeeper is an energy weapon that fires blue projectiles, but since it is a shotgun, it uses
Shotgun Shells instead of
Energy Ammo.

- There is a myth that only
Heavy Rounds can slow enemies down unlike other ammo types. According to former Respawn Entertainment developer Daniel Klein,[1][2] all ammo slows down Legends without the
Fortified passive perk by 10% for 1/4 of a second. This can only happen once every 3 seconds.
