Gameplay[ | ]

Compared to the original Apex Legends, gameplay is essentially the same: teams of "Legends", all of which have unique abilities, drop into a map and attempt to survive until only one team remains with the loot on the map. However, some tweaks have been made. Adjustments include increased magazines for most weapons such as the R-301 and Flatline, and loot pool changes, with weapons such as the G7 Scout and Mastiff making an appearance as ground loot.

Nothing from the main game will transfer over, including player statistics, progression, legends, or adjustments, as Apex Legends Mobile is an entirely separate game. However, the same EA Account can be used for Apex Legends Mobile and players are eligible to receive rewards if they played the main game.

Most maps from the base game make their return, such as World's Edge, King's Canyon and Olympus along with most Arena maps. Apex Legends Mobile is also set to have its own unique maps, including Pythas Block 0.

There are also Legends exclusive to the game, such as Fade and Rhapsody. Legends also return from the base game, such as Loba and Crypto.

Unlike the original, Apex Legends Mobile has additional base modes, such a Team Deathmatch mode, where players on opposing teams attempt to kill each other with loadouts they select.

Shutdown[ | ]

On January 31, 2023, it was announced that Apex Legends Mobile is to shut down on May 1 at 4:00 PM PDT. In-app purchases were disabled on January 31, beginning a 90-day sunsetting period.[2]

Trivia[ | ]

  • Lore given by Apex Legends Mobile is canon, not an alternate universe; however, their stories are self-contained.[3]
  • Files were found within the game's code for Valkyrie and five exclusive Legends - Seeker, Botanist, Ampere, Spider, and Monkey King. However, none of these were released before the game was shut down.
