Apex Legends Wiki

It's Pride Month with Fandom, and Apex Legends' colorful cast of characters includes plenty of LGBTQIA+ representation: Bangalore, Bloodhound, Fuse, Gibraltar, Loba, Mirage, Seer, and Valkyrie. A big thank you to everyone who has helped make those articles and the whole wiki what they are!

There will also be three roundtable discussions in the Fandom Discord server over the month: Discussing LGBTQIA+ video games and characters on June 15, LGBTQIA+ icons and activists on June 22, and a discussion with LGBTQIA+ wiki admins on June 29.

Deleting all skin pages[]

All skin pages are stubs that duplicate information in the "Cosmetic items" or "Skins" sections in their respective legends or weapons articles. They provide no extra information, and are unlikely to have new information added in the near future. I think they should be deleted along with their respective nav templates. --ALWAYSFF (talk) 05:46, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

There have been no responses since I started this discussion a week ago. Are there any reasons for keeping those pages? --ALWAYSFF(Talk|Contributions) 12:05, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Sorry, a few of us discussed this in Slack shortly after your post but then kind of forgot about it. Peachie and I mostly agree with you, but the individual pages offer the ability to provide more information for skins that are limited edition or that are otherwise not straightforward in how they are obtained. Trying to stick that in the skin sections on the base pages could get a bit crowded.
--Mr Pie 5 (talk) 20:06, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
I agree with the limited skin point, so here's a new suggestion:
  1. Create disambiguation pages for shared skin names.
  2. Unlink all skin pages which will be changed to a redirect in Step 6 or deleted.
  3. Rename all non-common skin pages (e.g. from Bloodline (Bloodhound Skin) to Bloodline) for conciseness and less cluttered base page links.
  4. Delete all individual articles for shared skin names.
  5. Keep all epic and legendary limited skin pages, since their obtaining methods are more likely to be complicated.
  6. Redirect any other pages to the "Cosmetic items" or "Skins" section.
  7. Merge all nav skin templates to 2 templates, one for limited legend skins and one for limited weapon skins.
Although most of these steps may seem to be tedious and redundant, I believe the above suggestion would be beneficial in the long run, as we can save a lot of time creating and managing a lot of less needed pages, while keeping article titles concise and guidelines for article creation consistent. Step 1 can be done now, as it doesn't involve changing existing pages, and I'm going to leave other steps for discussion first. --ALWAYSFF(Talk|Contributions) 04:00, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Table for damage profiles[]

I've created a table for damage profiles (example). I would like to know if there's any room for improvement before applying it to all weapon articles. Any thoughts? --ALWAYSFF(Talk|Contributions) 12:13, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Looks good to me.
--Mr Pie 5 (talk) 20:18, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of the individual consumables and throwables pages and the consolidation of their content to the Consumables page.[]

This would cut down on the number of stubs and they shouldn't have their own articles anyways since only so little information can be had there.

Metafysika (talk) 14:17, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Sounds good to me, although I would redirect them rather than delete.
Mr Pie 5 (talk) 06:53, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! Will work on redirecting the individual articles to Consumables.
Metafysika (talk) 08:36, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
Matches the Attachments. I like it.

Inclusion of datamined items[]

What should our general policy be on datamined items such as C.A.R. and V.O.L.T.)? As the weapons are both unreleased and unofficial, no matter how much data is found in the mine, are subject to potentially heavy change or even removal. We also don't want to mislead users into thinking things exist that don't. My current position is that it's okay for them to have their own pages, with relevant notices, but there should not be links to them from other directory pages, except perhaps where it's explicitly clear what they are. Would anyone care to weigh in on this?
Mr Pie 5 (talk) 06:13, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

I agree with not making datamined items/legends appear on the directory pages until they're official. Respawn's development style has always been heavy iteration and while the items may look the same or still be released, there may be lots of details that can and may be changed while unreleased. A Template warning readers that such content is based on datamined info should also be present.
Metafysika (talk) 06:26, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Agree. Crypto is not mentioned on the Main-Wiki-Page, but has it's own page. So we should keep it that way. There are several more names of supposed legends in the audio files (environment-sounds) - There is no need to add them to the "These are the legends in game"-Page, as they are not in game. -> Something like {{data-mined}} could be a good solution.
TheRunyx (talk) 06:42, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Hey, so we have anonymous user(s) adding info about C.A.R and VOLT in voice actors, a page deleted twice now and intentionally vandalizing pages. What should we do?
Oh yeah, here is the number of the vandal.
There was decent info about the two weapons, Edited we could make it helpful, what should we do?
User: Azzazin My contact here
The user in question was blocked for 2 weeks. The info about the datamined weapons could be added on their own pages since it has a datamined notice on it now. Just don't link them on any pages containing official or released content. Metafysika (talk) 16:04, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
Alright. Yeah. We might want a VOLT page, but we have a CAR. Page. I would like to state that I am not against anonymous users, or them doing a faulty move(I have made plenty), but intentionally vandalizing and adding that info to the deleted voice actors page was a problem. Thank you for responding and everyone keep up the good work(anonymous users included).

Adding High poly render images?[]

I know that many of the artists have provided high poly renders of the character models. Has anyone considered adding a gallery at the bottom of legend/weapon/location pages? I can request permission from the artists for this if it is needed.

Links to the examples I have in mind. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/mq5D4E https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Z538LR https://www.artstation.com/artwork/oOWEgO — Preceding unsigned comment added by Novicerobes (talkcontribs) at 05:35, 8 August 2019‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

It's fine. Just remember that the wiki has a file size limit for uploaded files.
Metafysika (talk) 06:28, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
I think the bridges images could be added to the gallery or the map, along with the loot box on the map. I’m not so sure where the Wraith pics would go, but you said there would be a Separate place, so go for it.

Why does everyone keep adding Voice Actor page?[]

Okay. So. Four times. Two vandalism, two were just made to help. I’ll admit, I started this page, but everyone keeps making this page, some with better intentions then others. What do we do? I am neutral, support adding it again just to add the Announcer voice actor (Attention: Champion eliminated) and to stop vandalism.

Or, we could keep it down, and just let the administrators delete it over and over. We probably should make something saying NO. I am fine either way, but we need to decide.

I feel like adding an announcer page would make sense just from a wiki point of view. adding in voice lines and crediting the VA would be neat. Would prevent further issues I guess?
— Preceding unsigned comment added by Novicerobes (talkcontribs) at 23:10, 11 August 2019‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
It's not everyone, it's one person who has been somewhat problematic recently. One of their ips was recently blocked for being more trouble than they're worth. There are additional preventative measures that can be taken if it continues, but creating the page just so it can say don't create it is going to cause the same issues it's supposed to be solving.
As for making an Announcer page, if you feel like you have enough to say about them, go for it.

On the topic of Seasons...[]

I have a couple things.

1. Should I cut and paste the Season 0 page to another page with a more relevant title, like “Pre-Season 1” and then delete it?

2. I seem to recall Respawn promising that they would release two Legends throughout Season 1 but they didn’t for some reason or another. For one, this supports the Crypto + Season 2 because Respawn wanted to make up for their missed promises. But mostly I would just add the info to Season 1. Does anyone else remember this or did I just make it up? Azzazin (talk) 12:59, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

1.) I think transferring the content to the Apex Legends page would be better since Pre-Season 1/Season 0 is just the Base Game bar the Havoc.
2.) They never promised two legends a season, that info was from a leaked listing on the PS4 that showed there should have been two legends for season 1, but they didn't say anything publicly about two legends a season. The roadmap they released also only said that they'll release AT LEAST 1 legend per season. That said, that was certainly the target since the invasion of the Leviathans fits the theme of Season 1 more than Season 2 and because in lore, Wattson and Octane joined the games the same season.

Categorizing voice lines[]

So I want to add every possible voice line to every Legend as I can, and I'm starting with Octane. As you could see, I added some new sections to the Voice Line category, one of them being "Unused/Unknown". This is for some lines that, at least I couldn't find in the game, or have no idea on what triggers said line. So yeah, it's pretty self explanatory.

The point about this ask is to consult admins, or anyone that can help me in the matter. There are these lines about a "Challenger squad", being a title similar to the Champion squad or the Kill Leader, yet I can't find evidence of the existence of said kind of squad. Should I put it on the Unused/Unknown section? Let me know asap so I can edit it before writing it in the wrong section.

Joaquin barboza (talk) 02:04, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

Not an admin, but I support the addition of an Unused tab. And yeah, the Challenger squad is some kind of unused title. Not sure what it would've been for.
Are you getting these quotes via datamining? Because if so, the filenames should give you some indication of what they're for.
Jockshocker (talk) 04:21, 16 March 2020 (UTC)
Datamined/unannounced information (I assumed these are datamined) has been discussed here: Apex Legends Wiki talk:Community portal#Inclusion of datamined items. With that in mind, giving these voice lines their own pages might be too much imo. I agree with chucking them off to an Unused section like you said but with the addition of the Datamining Notice at the start of the tab.
Metafysika (talk) 11:17, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

Relevant privacy discussion[]

Before making pages on Rampart and Valk, I asked the dataminer responsible of leaking them if it was ok to make said articles, and also I would know if he was aware and approving of previous datamined content being documented here. He answered that it was fine, but that he preferred the link to his profile to not be shown. However, hours after making said pages, it got some edits and within those there were people that linked Twitter posts and thus, his profile (not putting the blame on the edits themselves, wich were mostly necessary).

I wanted to ask mods if we should either delete the links like he said he would rather want, or just keep them, which I'm against of.

A minot topic is that he divided the Legends into the ones that are probably scrapped, and the ones that were most likely still coming their way; he suggested to not make pages about those that were probably not coming anymore, wich would be (out of the ones that currently have pages) Husaria, Conduit and Downfall. I think we should put a warning on those pages, saying something among the lines of "The dataminer states that this Legend was likely scrapped", but deleting them might be a bad idea in my opinion. Also, if we keep those pages but with said advice, I recollected even more of his leaked Legends to upload into their pages.

I consider this topic of pretty high importance because I feel like we're messing with how he wanted the info to be managed, and we should delete the links to his tweets because of privacy reasons. I'm awaiting your opinions, if you have doubts about the messages I can send you screenshots through email.Joaquin barboza (talk) 22:41, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

1.) Deleting the link to their profile would be for the best. If the user does not want their information on the site and its something we can do without, it shouldn't be on the site. If they don't want to be directly referenced as a source I'm sure we can find secondhand or alternative sources that present the same information if we want them to be cited (which of course preferably it should be).
2.)Some datamined legends have a "What is known" section detailing all the info that was gathered from the legends minus their abilities, of which a seperate section usually exists just for those. The info that it may probably have been scrapped would be perfect there.
Metafysika (talk) 03:43, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
I'm thinking of uploading his leaked paragraphs that contained the info about the abilities and the Legend as an image as "proof". That way, we show that the source is pretty legit while not linking his profile directly.Joaquin barboza (talk) 22:41, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
I think Conduit and Husaria should be deleted. We got a leak "confirming" Rampart and Valk as Legends, and Blisk and Downfall as planned Legends. We even have pictures of Rampart, Valk, and Blisk. But for Conduit and Husaria, we got no evidence that they are actually coming to the game. I have very mixed feelings on the existence of articles for content that will never exist. Lightning laxus (talk) 04:23, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
I don't think we should delete them, yes they are most likely not coming but after rereading the Datamined information template I realised that it already says that the Legend may not come, but it still is relevant information, so I say we don't delete those pages. The question I have is if we should make more of them or only leave the current ones.Joaquin barboza (talk) 22:41, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
Are you sure he said he has doubts Downfall is not coming? Because Downfall is an actual leaked Legend, not just datamined. Lightning laxus (talk) 04:23, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
Yes, he recently updated a link to a document that had all of the Legends that he had datamined and the info of their abilities, the list started in Loba, Rampart, Valk and Blisk, and he said that anything below it, including Downfall, was scrapped.Joaquin barboza (talk) 22:41, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

Voice line categorization[]

The issue of categorization of voice lines was raised and I think it would be a good time to start building some sort of style guide for the wiki. Starting with this one.

I propose the ff. tabs for the voicelines:

  • Character Select: The voice lines said on legend selection.
  • Intro: Voice lines when the champion is introduced.
  • Kill: Voice lines when you are eliminated.
  • Gameplay: Voice lines that play passively. This excludes voice lines from Pings, Abilities. While Ring status voice lines are also passive, they're separated.
  • Ring Status: Voice lines that play to remind you of the status and distance of the ring.
  • Pings: Voice lines from Pings. These include item pings and the You're Welcome and Thank You pings.
  • Abilities: Ability based voice lines.
  • Unused: Unused voice lines. Use {{DataminingNotice}} before the start of this tab.

Some Guidelines:

  • If unlockable, use the rarity templates (eg. {{Rare}} for Rare tier voice lines).
  • Voice lines in languages other than English should use the {{texttip}} template for the relevant romanization and/or translation to English. (eg. {{Texttip|끝내버리자.|Guhruhne bolija. / Let's finish this.}} to display 끝내버리자.)
  • Conditional banter should be relocated to their respective sections but the legend the voice line is for should be indicated and be enclosed in square brackets before the actual voice line. (eg. [to Revenant] "I don't care.")

Thoughts? Anything to add?
Metafysika (talk) 04:33, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Now we're cookin'.
I think this categorization is very reader-friendly and very formal. I came to this Gamepedia months after finding the game to see the character's voice lines, so that section has always been something I tried to keep an eye on in order to make the lines easier to find. Voice lines are pretty much the biggest source of character personality/exposition in the whole game, so I think there should be the most amount of them documented possible. And putting them in a set order makes it much more easy to keep track on what is left to add.
I want to add that the voice lines are content that is being constantly updated, so to anyone reading this, all help on documenting them is welcome. Just check first if what you're about to put in isn't already written.Joaquin barboza (talk) 21:02, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
And you most likely missed it, but there should also be a category for the voice lines that play according to how you are doing on the Ranked Series.Joaquin barboza (talk) 21:29, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Wiki BG[]

A suggestion about changing the wiki background to match the current season was made and is one I've been looking to do but need everyone's opinion if we should go through it. Here's a sample of how it'll look like.
Metafysika (talk) 10:32, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

I still think the idea is good but maybe it would be better wait for next season considering that preview image. It would have looked great with any other season theme but the current one is the worst color palette of them all. Is the "FP link" color customizable or is it fixed as red? L0D5 (talk) 11:15, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Legend voicelines as a subpage[]

Should we move the Legend voicelines section to its own subpage like the Badges? Some voiceline tabs are getting kinda long and having them on a separate page makes it easier for a maintenance and usability standpoint.
What does everyone think?
Metafysika (talk) 10:45, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

Sounds good to me.
--Mr Pie 5 (talk) 00:44, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
While we're at it, is there any reason to keep the badge pages around? They're all tiny, effectively the same, and are all covered by the main Badge page. Voiceline pages have a hell of a lot more merit than them.
Jockshocker (talk) 08:24, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
They'd take up more space than the voiceline section if we left them in the main article. A way to go at it would be to just leave them be or just redirect users to the main Badges article like you suggest. There's the thing about the individual legend parts being enclosed on a tabber though so no linking directly (I'm aware there's anchors on them but afaik it doesn't jump to the part of the article the tabber is in, it just selects the specific tab. This might be an issue if we start classifying the legend specific event earnable badges.
That said, I personally prefer keeping them on a separate subpage but if the community think its better to redirect, I won't be opposed to it.

Content from Pathfinder's Quest.[]

The book has been officially released but it seems most of the people who ordered the book still hasn't received their copies. This kind of situations may happen again in the future so I want to ask.
What should be our policy with regards to content from the book?
One thing I think that's needed is exact page citations for any information from there. With regards to us even posting such content at this point, I think its fine as its already officially released anyways, but the rest of you might find it spoils people so if you have any objections please say so so we can discuss.
Metafysika (talk) 01:33, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

I say we wait until the 9th to start adding to other pages, but until then we can fill out the Pathfinder's Quest page with a plot synopsis and such Jockshocker (talk) 03:57, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
That's a great idea. Would be good to also create a spoiler notice so the readers have an idea for the content. I like it~
Metafysika (talk) 04:17, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

Datamined story content and insider leaks[]

Bringing up two separate issues with this one.

First, how does this wiki feel about unreleased story content? For example, adding the transcripts of upcoming comic chapters before said chapters come out? Personally, I don't think unreleased story content belongs on this wiki whatsoever. Even if they are "hidden" from the page, potential editors can still stumble upon it and spoil themselves without knowing. In my opinion, story content should only be added when they come out.

Second, how does this wiki feel about insider leaks? Specifically, images like this. Lightning Laxus (talk) 03:15, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

  1. I feel that the wiki policy on datamined content applies here, the only thing we didn't thought of was how this would apply to editors. Not allowing such content to be edited in (even if commented out) would protect our editors from spoilers. I think though that this should also apply to any type of datamined content, not just story leaks as there may be editors who are averse to any kind of datamined content.
  2. I personally think that this image shouldn't be in the wiki due to how it was taken (insider leak vs. datamined content which are in the game files) but there's also the documentation and the recording of information part of the wiki. Honestly, I'm not sure how we could go about this other than outright banning any info that come from insider leaks. Community consensus about this issue would be key as we would be cutting off a source of information entirely.
    Metafysika (talk) 03:41, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
  1. I can agree with this.
  2. Regarding the insider image, I think these are the following routes we can go:
  • Option A) Delete the image and ban insider leaks. Remove all content revealed by the leaks (e.g. Valk being Offensive).
  • Option B) Delete the image but keep the information.
  • Option C) Fully embrace the image and use it as the main image. Create an additional spoiler policy, template, and category for insider leaks.
  • Option D) Hide the image and all insider information in its own, collapsed section on the page.
If anyone has any other options, I'll add them. Right now, I'm leaning towards C but my stance is wavering and isn't completely set in stone. My current reasoning for C is because I would hate another "RaMpArT uSeD tO bE a BiG wHiTe GuY" situation and the insider leak is admittedly helpful in dispelling those misconceptions; however, I strongly suggest editing out the rest of the roster (e.g. Ash). Lightning Laxus (talk) 04:24, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
I prefer Option C since we get to keep the content for future reference, compiling all information related to Apex is what this wiki is for anyways. I can create a notice template for the Insider leaks as a start, more granular policies can be enacted afterwards. As for the issue with commented out datamined content, it is already covered under our datamining policy like I said, only stricter enforcement of such rules would be done so as to protect editors too from spoilers.

Arena map pages[]

I was wondering if we should make separate pages for Arenas maps (when Season 9 drops of course), e.g. Party Crasher, including pages for Arena POI's on BR maps (e.g. Thermal Station). I've seen some other Fandom wikis that have smaller maps do that and I think it would be a good idea to try that as well. We do have three battle royale map pages at the moment, so why not include the arena maps?

TheKittyGuy16 (talk) 13:28, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

That's the plan yeah. There's enough information for each map to have their own pages that include BR map POI's as Arena maps. When I made the Template:Infobox location, it was for creating pages for each of the POI's (ofc that hasn't materialized yet but yeah).
Metafysika (talk) 14:46, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Ok, sounds good. About the Template:Infobox location, I have used that on some event pages that have introduced Town Takeovers.
TheKittyGuy16 (talk) 17:40, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Supply Drop weapons Arenas cost[]

I've noticed that all Supply Drop weapons that aren't the Kraber still have Arenas costs even though they are no longer purchasable. I would like to suggest a change, that being specialized Supply Drop info boxes containing drop rates and excluding Arenas prices. That way information on the pages can be slightly more accurate. The2ndXenobladeXFan (talk)

Mobile Stuff and Lore[]

Would someone please provide a guidance as to what to do with Mobile stuff? This is my understanding:

  • Mobile Exclusive stuff will have their own page, such as Fade
  • Lore: as stated at https://www.reddit.com/r/ApexLore/comments/urmzfx/apex_legends_mobile_launch_whats_next_for_apex/, the reddit's approach will be " Mobile will be listed always at the bottom of the Compendium under Extended Stories. This will also become the home for most external, physical media not made by the core game team like Overtime Comics and any future projects.". PROPOSAL: Create a new page for Mobile, similar in nature to "out of media" page, for mobile stuff.

Jestersage (talk) 16:36, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

I don't see any problems with mobile lore for the wiki. Mobile-only/Mobile-first Legends get their Lore on their own page, events happening on the universe get their own entries on the Timeline page, In-game events with lore get their own page like usual, supporting characters get entries on the Non-player character page, etc.

So I don't see a reason for us to corral lore from mobile into one separate page when the way we catalogue stuff still works with it.
Metafysika (talk) 17:52, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

Clarity and navigation between main/mobile/character pages[]

I do not think it is indicated clear enough for users that there are currently basically three different pages for each legend. The {{Game}} template used on these pages does denote that the subject of the article appears in one or both games, but that does not tell which the article itself concerns or the existence of the other pages. I think some kind of notification should be present at least on the legend's main game page, as this where the main page links you to.

Here's an example of what I'm thinking:

{{mainGamePage|mobilePage=Bangalore (Mobile)|lorePage=Bangalore (Character)}}

Similar notifications can be added for mobile and character pages.

I can make and add the necessary templates, but I'd like to hear your thoughts first, if this is even a good idea or if you have other plans, as I do not participate here too frequently. –taQtaQ (talk) 17:00, 25 June 2022 (UTC)

I think this is a great idea, I was supposed to make one with the more compact disambiguation template but this is clearer and also includes the lore page (though there is already a link to it on the lore section, more ways to let users know it exists is better)
Metafysika (talk) 03:34, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
I created the following templates:
I'll write a quick documention on each and then start adding them to the relevant pages. Feel free to improve the wording or anything.
