Unchecking this box and clicking Play will send your party into your selected playlist without filling your team with other players. After every match, it will automatically be checked. Also, the server only allows 6 no-fill players in a single match and the featured isn't available in [[Ranked Leagues]]. |

Revision as of 19:39, 6 May 2021
Chaos Theory was a Collection Event for Season 8 of Apex Legends that ran from March 9th, 2021 to March 23rd, 2021.
Nintendo Switch
With the event came the release of Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch. From March 9th to May 4th, 2021, players who play on Switch were able to get the new P.A.T.H. Pathfinder skin as well as 30 free Season 8 Battle Pass Levels. Additionally, Switch players were able to earn Double XP for the first two weeks after launch on March 9th (the event’s duration).
No-Fill Matchmaking
With the event came the release of a new no-fill matchmaking feature. A checkbox saying "Fill Teammates" will appear above the game mode selection screen if you're playing Duos or Trios. Unchecking this box and clicking Play will send your party into your selected playlist without filling your team with other players. After every match, it will automatically be checked. Also, the server only allows 6 no-fill players in a single match and the featured isn't available in Ranked Leagues.

Replacing Water Treatment, Caustic Treatment is a large laboratory that has a button that will drain toxins from the whole building. Anyone can activate it. There are also some cages containing high-tier loot, but players must drain the toxins first to get to the loot.
Ring Fury
Ring Fury is a takeover of the normal Play Apex game mode, where an increasing amount of Ring Flares (smaller rings) spawn around the active playspace in addition to the primary ring which behaves as usual. Those who get caught in a Ring Flare take damage equal to the damage dealt by the current round’s Ring. You’ll be given a short warning on the map and minimap before the Ring Flare appears. Legends will call out if they are in direct danger or if there’s one opening up nearby. It's an escalation takeover, meaning that the number of Ring Flares will increase as the event goes on. A new item, the Heat Shield, protects legends from that Ring damage for a period of time before disappearing. Players also get 25% faster revives while in the shield, as long as the Ring is above it.[note 1]

- The Nintendo Switch launch was actually about six hours after the event began, rather than happening with the release of the event.
- The Chaos Theory Gambler Badge's ring damage prevention requirement was reduced from 5,000 to 1,000 on the last day of the event to make it easier for people to complete the challenge.
