Players may unlock Legends and various cosmetic items through four types of in-game currency, which include Apex Coins Apex Coins, Crafting Metals Crafting Metals, Legend Tokens Legend Tokens and Heirloom Shards Heirloom Shards.

The Iron Crown Iron Crown Collection Event also introduced event-specific currency, called Iron Crown Icon Crowns, which can be used only during an event to unlock event-exclusive items, and it's currently the only event where it was possible to use such event-specific currency.

Apex Coins

Apex Coins

Apex Coins can only be acquired by purchasing them with real world currency or in Battle Passes, and may be used to purchase Apex Packs, featured items in the Store and event limited items, with prices that vary as follows:

  • Apex Packs: Apex Coins 100;
  • Legendary featured and event skins: Apex Coins 1,800;
  • Epic event skins: Apex Coins 1,000;
  • Rare event skins: Apex Coins 500;
  • Legends: Apex Coins 750;
  • Charms: Apex Coins 500.

Crafting Metals

Crafting Metals

Crafting Metals may be used to purchase cosmetic items such as Legend and weapon skins, intro and kill quips, gun charms, banner Frames, banner trackers, holo-sprays and finishers. The amount of Crafting Metals required to purchase an item vary based on the item's rarity:

  • Common grade item: Crafting Metals 30;
  • Rare grade item: Crafting Metals 60;
  • epic grade item: Crafting Metals 400;
  • Legendary grade item: Crafting Metals 1,200.

Crafting Metals can only be acquired through Apex Packs, replacing duplicate items in case the pack decides to drop an item the player already owns. The amount of Crafting Metals dropped are equal to half the duplicate's original cost, for example Legendary Crafting Metals are worth Crafting Metals 600.

Legend Tokens

Legend Tokens

Legend Tokens can only be acquired by leveling up, where 600 of them are given to players each time they level up, and may be used to unlock Legends, purchase recolors of Legendary skins in the Store and reroll daily challenges, with prices that vary as follows:

  • Legendary skin recolors: either Legend Tokens 6,500 or Legend Tokens 10,500;
  • Legends: Legend Tokens 12,000 each;
  • First daily challenge reroll: Legend Tokens 200;
  • Second daily challenge reroll: Legend Tokens 500;
  • Subsequent daily challenge rerolls: Legend Tokens 1,000 each.

The cost to reroll daily challenges resets to Legend Tokens 200 each day.

Heirloom Shards

Heirloom Shards

Heirloom Shards may be used to purchase items from the Heirloom Store. Each Apex Pack has a less than 1%[1] chance of dropping 150 Heirloom Shards, and it's the only way to acquire them.

Event-specific currencies

Crowns

Crowns were the currency utilized during the Iron Crown Collection Event to purchase event exclusive items in the Iron Crown Store, and they could've been obtained only through event challenges or by opening Iron Crown packs.
