Cooldown 25 seconds

  • Over the course of 3 seconds, sends Fade back to where he was 5 seconds ago.
    • Can be canceled at any point during the rewind.
  • This ability leaves behind afterimages that grant speed boosts if the Phase Echo Perk is equipped.
  • If Fade's shield is empty, 25 shield points (1 bar of shields) will be restored upon use of this ability if the Pact of the Suit Perk is equipped.
  • Slipstream will be engaged upon exiting the ability with no cooldown punishments if the Renewed Purpose Perk is equipped.
  • Can be used when knocked down if the Punisher's Remorse Perk is equipped.

  • If you position yourself correctly, you can use the ability to flank the enemy by warping behind them.
  • You can trick your enemies into thinking you are going to do a full flashback but cancel it after 1 second to quickly get back in the fight

Slipstream[]

Slipstream Passive
Slipstream
Description You can gain a short movement speed boost at the end of the slide.
?

  • After end of a slide, grants a 15% movement speed boost for 4 seconds.
  • There is a cooldown of 10 seconds to prevent spamming of ability.
  • This will be granted upon exiting Flashback without starting the cooldown if the Renewed Purpose Perk is equipped.
  • Slipstream will leave behind speed-boosting afterimages if the Lingering Shadow Perk is equipped.

  • A visual and audio cue will be played when Slipstream is recharged.

Phase Chamber[]

Phase Chamber Ultimate Z/LB+RB/L1+R1/LB+RB
Phase Chamber
Description Release a phase cage to send all Legends within range into the Void.
Charge time 1 minute

  • Throws an explosive with a radius of 8 meters which deals 10 damage and slows enemies.
  • After 3 seconds, all players inside the radius are phased for 5 seconds.
    • Enemies that get phased are highlighted for the Fade that threw the Phase Chamber for the duration of the phase. Enemies are not highlighted if the Lost in the Void Perk is equipped.
    • Allies that get phased are able to move at normal speeds, but are unable to use their abilities, weapons, and grenades. Allies are phased for longer if the Lost in the Void perk is equipped.

  • This is a quick way to remove enemies from combat and escape if low on health.
    • You can also use this on yourself to escape into the void without any speed penalties.
  • You may use it to remove some enemies from the fight and focus on the others

Lore[]

Main article: Fade (character)
Born into a family of military-tech hunters, Ignacio Huamaní learned early to never let loot go to your head. He worked beside his ex-mercenary father and brothers, recovering advanced weaponry to sell to the highest bidder. But as the youngest, he was always stuck with the role of lookout. Ignacio was eager to prove his worth, so he secretly connected with a client offering an opportunity too good to turn down: a hefty reward for finding a lost prototype tech suit.

It wasn't easy locating the crashed IMC cargo ship containing the suit, but when Ignacio finally did, he ended up walking his family into an ambush. The contract was a set-up, and his family paid the price. But before the client's hitmen could kill Ignacio, he activated the suit and phased to another dimension. It took him a long time to master enough of the suit's phasing power to return to his home dimension, but when he did, all that remained of his family was dried blood.

Ignacio joins the Apex Games as Fade to enact his revenge. He'll climb the ranks, drawing as much attention to himself and his suit as possible to lure the client out of hiding. The suit will be the bait -- Fade will be the punishment.

    • Fade's Flashback ability is derived from Titanfall 2's Phase Rewind boost.
    • During the "Hunted" launch trailer's premiere, during the countdown, a grunt can be heard saying that he would buy a jacket that could allow him to go back in time, presumably referencing Fade and his Flashback ability.
