There are seven game modes permanently available in Apex Legends: Training, the Firing Range, the "Play Apex" game modes Trios and Duos, Ranked Leagues, Arenas, and Ranked Arenas. Limited Time Modes (LTMs) and LTM Takeovers might be available during some events.

The last 10 survivors are put in one big squad together and must escape on a dropship. If any of the 10 remaining Legends dies, they won't respawn as a Shadow. Hunt There are nine Hunts. The player drops in a specific area that changes on each Hunt and needs to complete various tasks while also fighting Prowlers and Shadow Prowlers. Shadow Royale Killed Legends respawn and play as Shadows for the rest of the match, and keep respawning as long as there's at least one teammate who isn't one. Airdrop Escalation[note 2] More Care Packages spawn and drop in clusters, and Rare and Epic fully kitted weapons can be found in them along with their usual Legendary versions and Care Package weapons. The rarity of the weapons is based on the current round and on which colored beam the Care Packages emit.
