Lava Siphon is a location found on World's Edge. It is also used as a standalone map in Control. It was added in Season 10, replacing Sorting Factory.
Gameplay[ | ]
Lava Siphon is a high tier loot zone composed of three large multi-story buildings linked to each other with gondolas, and one large building built into a nearby mountain. Each building has a field of lava between them and vertical ziplines on the exteriors so players can return to the interior if they fall. The area has a Respawn Beacon on its southwest corner, a Jump Tower on its northeast, and many Supply Bins.
Lore[ | ]
The overloading of the Harvester at World's Edge wreaked havoc on the ecosystem of Talos. A major symptom of this was the opening of massive lava fissures across the surface of the planet. In order to mitigate this damage, Hammond Robotics constructed the Lava Siphon.[1] This construct was publicly intended to extract excess lava and harmlessly release it into the atmosphere.[2] However, this proved to simply be a performative measure, as the Lava Siphon truly only heated the air.[3]
