A Legend that make enemies scatter and overwhelms them with brute force. Maggie’s tactical ability, Riot Drill, forces her enemies out of cover by spitting fire through it, and her passive Warlord's Ire, allows her to track her enemies and move quickly with shotguns. Her ultimate ability Wrecking Ball, lays a trail of speed boosting pads to propel her squad into battle at high speed.
Abilities[ | ]
Riot Drill[ | ]
Tactical | Q/// | |
---|---|---|
Riot Drill | ||
Description | Fire a drill that attaches to an obstacle and burns enemies on the other side. | |
Cooldown | 20 seconds |
- Holding Tactical button delays the launch. Melee cancels the launch.
- The drill can be used simultaneously with other actions (firing, reloading, healing, etc.) without interrupting them.
- If the drill hits an enemy directly, it will deal 5 damage and bounce off of them.
- If attached, a flare will shoot out from the other side.
- The drill can reach an opposite surface of a wall/prop up to 13 meters - an indicator on screen will show the detected depth while launching.
- Takes 1 second to activate after attaching, and deals a total of 160 damage over 9 seconds. Deals partial damage to the object it is attached to.
- Flare length is 5 meters, and it is not blocked by obstacles.
- The drill itself cannot be destroyed once it has attached to an obstacle, but if the object it is attached to is destroyed, the drill will disappear as well.
- The drill moves along with any surface it is attached to.
- Attaches to:
- Map props, walls, doors
- Mad Maggie's Wrecking Ball
- Gibraltar's Dome of Protection
- Rampart's Amped Cover - Can go through multiple walls.
- Newcastle's Mobile Shield and Castle Wall
- Caustic's Nox Gas Trap
- Crypto's Surveillance Drone
- Tridents
- Can be affected by Horizon's Gravity Lift.
- Bounces off of Knockdown Shields, including Newcastle's Revive Shield, and Pathfinder's Boxing Ring on Olympus.
- When you know an enemy is hiding behind some cover, use your drill to damage the enemy behind it. This can force them to move and create an opening for your team.
- Due to how a wall/prop surface is calculated by the game, it may sometimes seems to drill through only a short distance instead of all the way down the wall/prop.
Warlord's Ire[ | ]
Passive | ||
---|---|---|
Warlord's Ire | ||
Description | Temporarily highlight enemies you've damaged. Move faster with shotguns. | |
- Damaged enemies' silhouettes are visible through walls and obstacles for 0.8 second.
- Maggie gains 1.15x speed when walking or running with a shotgun.
- This is the same speed as when holstering the weapon.
- Speed boost also affect ADS in shotgun, resulting an effective ADS speed penalty of -3.5% when compared to other weapons.[3]
- Moving with Shotgun :
- If you're primarily using a shotgun for most fights, keep it equipped even when not in a fight, as it provides combat readiness with no cost to movement speed.
- If the shotgun is more of a secondary weapon, keep it holstered when out in the open, as switching from shotgun to your primary weapon is slower than drawing from holstered.
- Use Thermite Grenades and the Riot Drill to keep enemies highlighted for an extended duration behind walls.
Wrecking Ball[ | ]
Ultimate | Z/+/+/+ | |
---|---|---|
Wrecking Ball | ||
Description | Throw a ball that releases speed-boosting pads and detonates near enemies. | |
Charge time | 2 minutes |
- When released, the ball bounces off floors, ceilings, and walls.
- While traveling, a speed-boosting pad is released in a zig-zag pattern every 0.8 seconds.
- Stepping on the pads provides a maximum 30% speed boost. (Does not stack with other speed boosts.)
- The speed boost lasts for 3 seconds.
- Boost pads disappear 60 seconds after the ball explodes.
- Can break through doors
- Will explode after bouncing the maximum amount of times, after 10 seconds, or upon hitting an enemy
- Deals a maximum of 20 damage in an area and stuns enemies and Maggie within the radius.
- Deals damage to enemy placeable objects: Loba's Black Market Boutique, Newcastle's Castle Wall and Mobile Shield, Seer's Exhibit, Horizon's Black Hole, Rampart's Amped Cover, and Caustic's Nox Gas Traps.
- Completely destroys Gibraltar's Dome of Protection.
- Can bounce off both the inside and outside of Rampart's Amped Cover and Newcastle's Mobile Shield and Castle Wall.
- Can bounce off players, and explodes shortly after coming into contact.
- Can be launched by Octane's Launch Pad.
- Can be affected by Horizon's Gravity Lift.
- Can be destroyed by Wattson's Interception Pylon.
- Can be bounced back with Knockdown Shield and doesn't deplete Knockdown Shield's HP.
- If one knows the enemy is hiding behind a blocked door, a wrecking ball can break the door and stun the enemies behind them, providing an opening for Maggie and her team.
- Aside from its offensive use, the wrecking ball can also be used for rotation across the map or escaping a dangerous situation.
- Be aware that enemies can use your boost pad trail to follow you.
Legend Upgrades[ | ]
Legend Upgrades are special perks introduced in Season 20 to all Battle Royale modes. These add upgrades to a Legend's abilities as you level up your Evo Armor. Only one option may be chosen per level-up for a maximum of two perks total.
- Shots Shots Shots: Auto reload shotguns on knocks.
- Fire Ball: "A little inspiration from Wally." Wrecking Ball catches fire shortly after release. When the ball would normally detonate, it instead generates a shockwave and creates an x of thermites on the ground but continues bouncing. Ball detonates and disappears on second thermite release.
- Drillslinger: +1 Riot Drill charge; -25% active duration.
- Big Drill: +50% depth and width of Riot Drill.
Lore[ | ]
“ | Margaret Kōhere - the woman who would one day be known as Mad Maggie - grew up in one of the dustiest, dullest corners of Salvo without any family to speak of. She was fortunate, then, to meet a kindred chaotic spirit: an adventurous young boy named Walter Fitzroy. The two were inseparable, and in their teenage years, they became mercenaries. Eventually this duo grew into the Cracked Talon - a powerful mercenary operation. It was here she earned her nom de guerre: Mad Maggie. But when rival warlord Sandringham Kelly signed a treaty with the Syndicate, Maggie’s hopes for an independent Salvo were ruined, and Fuse abandoned her for the Games, leaving Maggie very mad indeed…
By sabotaging Fuse’s entrance into the Apex games, Maggie planned to expose how weak the Syndicate was, in hopes it would spark rebellion on Salvo. Fuse would assemble a team to take down Maggie… only for the pair to have a heart to heart where they came to accept each other’s choices: Fuse will always follow the fun, and Maggie will always follow the cause. It seemed as though Maggie fell to her death after that exchange...But she was apprehended by the Syndicate, and sentenced to fight to the death in the Apex Games. So she will: just not hers. |
