Apex Legends Wiki

It's Pride Month with Fandom, and Apex Legends' colorful cast of characters includes plenty of LGBTQIA+ representation: Bangalore, Bloodhound, Fuse, Gibraltar, Loba, Mirage, Seer, and Valkyrie. A big thank you to everyone who has helped make those articles and the whole wiki what they are!

There will also be three roundtable discussions in the Fandom Discord server over the month: Discussing LGBTQIA+ video games and characters on June 15, LGBTQIA+ icons and activists on June 22, and a discussion with LGBTQIA+ wiki admins on June 29.

50% or 100%?[]

Why does the info on the legendary body shield keep getting reverting to 50%? You think I am a troll, but I specifically referenced Rock Paper Shotgun as my source of info on this. This has been referenced many times, but also, in game if you pick up a golden body shield, it says “50%”. If you could prove wrong by in game information, I would be obliged to leave you alone and leave it be. Please don’t revert something in game. Also, you said it yourself, that most people think 50% means half the time. Adding 100% or 200% just confuses people. Again, if you could prove me wrong, by in game the in game body shield, I would let this go. I don’t check discord often, but if you could take a screenshot and post it there, that would prove your point. Azzazin (talk) 18:29, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

I'm not up to date on what the literal in-game text says, but a 100% increase means twice as fast, or half as long. So if the in-game text says 50% faster then saying it's 100% faster is objectively incorrect, but if it says half as long, then 100% is correct. 50% only means half the time if it's being applied directly to time, which in this case, "100% faster", it is not, it's being applied to the action. But if it were something like "in 50% of the time", then it would be. If most people think otherwise, they're incorrect, and that's not an excuse for us to also be incorrect.
To show some math, if you get one X per 8 seconds (where X is say, a use of a medkit), a 100% increase would mean you get 2X per 8 seconds, or 1X per 4 seconds: twice as fast. A 50% increase would be 1.5X per 8 seconds, or 1X per 6 seconds.

Oh gosh, my head hurts. But, I get what you are saying, we should not be incorrect no matter what people think, but defending my point, assuming a Phoenix kit takes 8 seconds to use, and with this shield it is 50%, what is that 50 out of? 50/100, and that reduces to 1/2. 1/2 •8 is 4, and it takes 4 seconds to use a Phoenix kit with a good body shield. Now, I would always assume that the more complicated answer in math is the right answer, but the thing is, we already know Respawn is using this method because of Lifeline’s Combat Medic “use healing items 25% faster”. Following your logic, where X=8, then .25X would make any Phoenix/Med kit become 2 seconds, which doesn’t happen in game. Am I getting this wrong? I have seen the way that you guys are doing the math, I agree that that would get the right answer, but I disagree with the math for the conclusions it gives with the 25% perk with Lifeline.
Please do not call me a troll, I am just giving my reasons for opposing this change, but if we can’t agree on anything could we just keep it at “consumables take half as long to use”? Azzazin (talk) 13:40, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
25% faster means 1.25X, not .25X (increasing X by 25%, not reducing it to 25%), for 1.25X per 8 seconds, or 1x per 6.4 seconds (and I made an error above, 50% faster would be about 5.33 seconds). ((Q * X) / (T)), quantity (Q) actions (X) over time (T), divide both sides by Q to get the time it takes for one X.

Okay, that is a valid way to work it out, I am not saying you are getting the wrong result here, let’s be clear. But I was referring to what method Respawn is using. With Gibby’s new Dome shield buff, all healing consumables work 50% faster. Unless I am mistaken, (which I could be, I am not perfect) it does not take 5.33 seconds to work an 8 sec. consumable.

I also found the Gold Body Shield, it only says “consumables take half as long to use” Azzazin (talk) 14:44, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

Evo Gear in Season 6[]

We all know that we damage players to level up evo before s6. Now we drop with it with 0 shield. Then beside damage, we can deposit evo armor shield into replicator for 45 material to gain 100 level pts (-ish) + restore shield, just wonder how to represent it. or I just add text like "Deposit it for 45 Material to add 100 points" before general evo shields 1/2/3/5 tab. --Specgineff (talk) 14:50, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
