The Legacy Antigen was a quest in Season 9 Season 9.

Treasure Pack Rewards[]

Players can find Treasure Pack Treasure Packs in-game, once per day (players can also purchase all the available Treasure Packs for Apex Coins 25).

Treasure Pack rewards vary with the only constant being that every four packs give out an epic Charm Charm. Challenge Stars 2 are given out usually after every other pack while Crafting Metals 15 or an Apex Pack Apex Pack are usually four packs apart.

All of the rewards need a total of 60 Treasure Packs to unlock.

After all the Treasure Packs are collected, the player gets two rewards: an Waves of Change R-99 SMG Skin and an Apex Pack Apex Pack.

Story Progress[]

This quest's story is told through a comic divided into eleven parts, including one prologue narrated by Angela Fazia.

Prologue[]

Director's Cut

Due to the prologue being cut down to fit the in-game comic style, a "director's cut" of the prologue was released.[1]

"That First Step's a Doozy"[]

"A Wing and a Prayer"[]

"She Blinded me with Science!"[]

"Getting the Band Back Together"[]

"Haunted by Broken Ghosts"[]

"A Vulnerable Position"[]

"The Terrible Truth About Alexander Nox"[]

"Abandonment Issues"[]

"Retribution"[]

"Legacy Found"[]

Side stories[]

Throughout the entire quest's run, a community-drawn comic was released every week as a supplementary to the in-game comics. These side-stories focus on the other legends and characters not featured in the main storyline.

Trivia[]

  • The prologue of this quest was done by a community artist instead of Dark Horse Comics, making it the first community-drawn comic to make it into the game.
  • This quest is the swan song of Tom Casiello, a former senior writer at Respawn and one of the original writers of Apex Legends. After writing for more than 2 years, Casiello came across a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and made the difficult decision to leave. He started writing "The Legacy Antigen" during September of 2020 and decided to pour everything he had into this one final quest so he could go out with a bang. It is his love letter to Apex Legends.[4]
  • According to Tom Casiello, the writers have a rule to not "threepio" anything. (This is a reference to C-3PO from Star Wars where George Lucas sacrificed logic to insert a nonsense Easter egg into the prequel trilogy.) When the Bangalore-Wraith section of the community comics came out, Casiello admitted he might have stepped over that line: Bangalore met Crypto and then she, Voidwalker Wraith, and former IMC soldiers all decided to go to the same abandoned island (Kings Canyon), in the exact same secret underground lab, on the exact same day, and at the exact same time. However, he believed that it was worth it in the end because that section of the comics was not about those coincidences. It was about Bangalore's emotional reaction upon seeing Jackson again; it was about Wraith finally being able to provide answers for a change. Casiello pushed the boundaries of believability so that these characters' stories can move forward.[5]
  • The crossbow seen in Part 5 is supposed to be the Bocek Compound Bow. The comic was completed before the Bocek's design was finalized.[6]
  • What Fuse attempted to say to Bloodhound in the epilogue is not true Icelandic, but an attempt. The loose translation is "Whether you attacked, Felagi...or chose to retreat...I will still bid you farewell, and wish you well on your journey... until we come to our end, and meet again in Valhalla".
